"Will POWER"

God's will... free will... and will power are terms we have heare all
our lives. this particular blog is about Will Power... The text might
Heb 12. the image is one of following our high priest... the pioneer
of our faith... Jesus said that those who would follow must deny
self... take up their cross... count the cost... and follow.

Self sacrifice is related to letting go of one's will. Luther says that the only freedom we have without God's Spirit is to say "no" to what God is offering. We can choose our own way (or will) instead of God's. So, self sacrifice is a learned discipline for letting go of the weight of sin that holds us back. Letting go of our own way... and having the Spirit's grace to say "yes". When I say no to myself and yes to God, then I have begun to really run the race. I have connected to the "real" power... It is only when we let go of ourselves that we can have real "Will POWER".
